The Melt to Thrive Story

Intro

I spent decades in the operating room watching people walk in hurting—bone-on-bone knees, inflamed joints, chronic back pain, and more. We focused on the big stuff: muscles, bones, vessels, nerves. Fascia? We discarded it without a second thought.

I didn’t know then what I know now: that fascia is the missing link in most people’s pain, stiffness, and disconnection from their body. And once I found MELT, there was no turning back.

From the OR to the Mat

As an OR nurse, I saw people arrive exhausted and inflamed—worn down by years of chronic stress, repetitive patterns, and pain that had nowhere to go. But we never asked how they got there. We treated the joint or the organ, not the system that held it all together

And honestly? We didn’t even talk about fascia.

Trying All the Things (Except MELT)

Eventually, I turned to movement myself—first Pilates, then yoga. I thought this was the answer. And in many ways, it was. I got stronger. More connected. More in tune with my breath.

But getting other people to do it? Easier said than done.

Then I saw MELT creator Sue Hitzmann on TV talking about fascia, pain, and the nervous system. I brought it up in my studio, and was quickly told, “That’s not Pilates or yoga, so no.”

So… I let it go. For a while.

Science Hooked Me—MELT Changed Me

Eventually, I circled back. I read. I researched. And the science behind MELT had me instantly:

  • Fascia hydration
  • Stuck stress
  • Nervous system balance
  • Real-life pain relief without punishment

I started MELTing. I felt the change. The buzzy sensation. My hips moved easier. My breath got deeper. I slept better. And I knew: I had to teach this.

What I See Now (And Why I’ll Never Stop)

Now, as a MELT instructor, I geek out over the changes I see in my students:

  • The shift in their breath
  • The lightness in their stride
  • The way they stand taller—without trying
  • That moment of “wait, did that actually work?” after reassessment

And honestly?

I feel like the Pied Piper

Because when something works this well, you want everyone to feel it. You want people to move better, sleep deeper, and finally come home to the body they’ve been living in all along.

Want to Try MELT for Yourself?

f you’ve tried everything and still feel stuck, stiff, or stressed—MELT might be your missing piece. It’s gentle, effective, backed by science, and taught by someone who’s been where you are (hi, it’s me).
